Spring in the Green House
The first sign of life in the big greenhouse started in March and by April we were already seeing blooms: first the Queen of Sweden's beautiful peachy cupped flowers, the pale lilac of Twice in a Blue Moon and pale pink Heritage.
Very soon these were followed by Rose Tantel's wonderfully scented greenhouse roses: vivid Ashram, pure white Mythos and pale apricot/pink Duchess of Cornwall.
All through the year Carat, a rich magenta pink, performed brilliantly
- we grow it in the greenhouse and the polytunnel, which means
no marks from the rain, and it lasted well into November.
