About Country Roses
COUNTRY ROSES is a family business, started in 2001 by Danaë and Robin Duthy.
The rose fields and barns are 6 miles West of Colchester in the Stour Valley on the Essex and Suffolk border and, unlike any other provider of cut roses, ours are grown only in England, most in the open air, which produces a fabulous natural look and overwhelming fragrance. We have 10,000 bushes, with over 60 varieties, all scented.
We work closely with you to provide the species you like, but may substitute if necessary, after consultation. We always follow colour schemes as closely as possible and are very experienced in and sensitive to the individual needs and desires of our clients, with whom we create a close collaboration.
Nature First
Our roses have been planted in chemical free land; the greenhouses are run on carefully balanced eco-systems and the plants fed organically.
Danaë is an author, journalist and gardener, Robin an art analyst and gardener, and their company Country Roses consists of a team of local rose pickers, gardeners and our office administrator.
Design Team
Danaë and Trisha Edwardes, a well known film set decorator Oscar-nominated for Finding Neverland (Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet), have developed a design team which will arrange your Country Roses for extra special occasions.
We work with top florists, designers and event organisers and specialise in weddings.

We have fields and paddocks full of roses and three barns from which local buyers are welcome to collect their orders.
